It’s not always easy to take control of your own life. Often times women are stuck in bad situations without the means to dig their way out. It can become very easy for a woman to attach herself to a partner when looking for comfort. When a woman is clinging to a man in a relationship, it can then allow the man to take control of her life. Unfortunately, under these circumstances, it’s easy for clinging women to put their trust into unreliable men. Many women have depended on men for a safe and secure life over the years, but not all men are trusting and dependable, so therefore women can sometimes set themselves up for unfair treatment.

Being clingy or sticking to a partner can lead to relationship abuse. Sticky Girls is a thoroughly researched book that states that a clingy relationship often turns into an abusive pattern. There are many types of relationship abuse, such as emotional, physical, sexual, financial, threats, isolation and possibly intimidation. Some women make bad choices and allow men to take advantage of them but there are certain men that prey on these types of women.

Sticky Girls is packed to the brim with tools, references, quotes and even a quiz to help women take control of their lives. It encouraged me by suggesting attainable goals to build my own confidence and self-esteem. It is important to find your inner peace and not let yourself become continually stuck in toxic relationships.

Quoting from the author, “Peace is not something someone gives you. Peace is a gift you give yourself.” I’d highly recommend finding the “new you” within the pages of this book to take control of yourself and your life.
