Review of Pablo Taco by Mike Sandifer

Pablo TacoPablo Taco by Mike Sandifer

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Pablo Taco is looking for someone to play with on the school playground. He meets Hamburger Dan, who at first doesn’t think they can friends – after all, he’s a hamburger and Pablo is a taco. But, with just a little convincing from Pablo, the two become friends. From there they avoid getting burrito-torpedoed by Billy Burrito.

Pablo Taco is an adorable children’s book that teaches diversity and shows children that, although we may be different from one another, we can still get along and be friends. Mike Sandifer has obviously drawn upon his background as a grade-school teacher while planning and writing this book. The illustrations are eye-catching and will certainly hold the attention of children during circle, library or bed times. Pablo Taco is a great jumping off point for parents and educators wishing to tackle and discuss this important subject.
