You can’t go wrong when you name a children’s book Magic, Mayhem and Life Underground with Bunkie and author Shelley Brown doesn’t disappoint with this one. Bunkie is a lazy little rabbit who enjoys whiling away the days napping. Summer is particularly dry one year and Bunkie finds himself having to venture outside in search ofMagic, Mayhem and Life Underground with Bunkie by Shelley Brown cover photo food. He spies plenty of vegetables across the road, at the Murdock Farm. He meets a sneaky snake who promises to help him gain access to the farm, where he can eat as much produce as he likes. The snake shows Bunkie how magic flowers will help him achieve this. But, sneaky snakes are not to be trusted and Bunkie learns this the hard way. After dealing with the sneaky snake, Bunkie gets himself into several new adventures.

Magic, Mayhem and Life Underground with Bunkie is a chapter book. It’s suitable to be read to young children over time – circle time, bedtime, etc. Older children should enjoy reading this book aloud or to themselves. It’s also educational and informative for little ones. I found it imaginative and am sure it will hold the attention of children of all ages.
